1995, Lt. David Karl Craft
Lt. DAVID KARL CRAFT '95 died on July 19, 2017, from a blood clot. David first served as an officer with the Greensboro Police Department, then moved to the Henrico County Police Division in 2000. There he protected and served the community with honor and valor, working on patrol operations, as a school resource, and in drug enforcement over the course of his career. In 2005, David served on the Hurricane Katrina Task Force, providing humanitarian assistance in Mississippi after the catastrophic storm. He was also the owner of Craft Tile, LLC, which gave him the opportunity to use his artistic talents. David played guitar and harmonica with the praise team at North Run Baptist Church and Staples Mill Road Baptist. He is survived by his wife and daughter. | 2017-08-07 16:18:28

EDWARD DRUMMOND ALEXANDER '97 died on June 8, 2017. A devoted father, Ed enjoyed boating, fishing, and canoeing with his eight-year-old son. With much effort and determination throughout his illness, he attended nearly all of his son's sporting, scouting, and school events. Dr. DANIEL CROSS TURNER '95 is a consultant with the College Planning Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Providing holistic and customized educational counseling, career guidance, and standardized test prep, the center helps families navigate the college admissions process and find the best-fitting college education personally, academically, and financially. In May, Dan and his wife Keaghan attended the signing ceremony for incoming H-SC student Jack King, who signed his letter of intent to play linebacker for the Tigers in the fall. Dr. GARY HELM DARDEN '91 is serving his second term as chair of the department of social sciences and history at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. For the past three years, he has also served on FDU's Faculty Senate, first as vice president, then as president, and now as chair of the academic planning committee. In 2015, he was named Teacher of the Year at the university's Becton College of Arts and Sciences and presented a lecture at H-SC at the invitation of Professor Emeritus Jim Simms.
